A petition to start Albany Federal Employees Credit Union was filed with the Georgia Secretary of State in December 1933.
The petition was granted and the official credit union charter was signed on February 14, 1934. This date is celebrated each year with an Annual meeting open to the full membership. We are now in our
74th year of service.
The original membership was open to Federal employees in Dougherty County and their families.
Today's membership includes Federal and Military employees or retirees in the SouthWest Georgia counties of Atkinson, Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks. Calhoun, Clay, Clinch, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Echols, Grady, Irwin, Lanier, Lee, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Quitman, Randolph, Seminole, Sumter, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, and Worth (the old 316, 317 zip code area), the Sumter County Sheriff's office employees, Merck & Company employees, Ryan’s Family Steakhouse employees and family related by blood, marriage, or adoption to credit union members.

Our Main Office is located at 1115 N. Westover Blvd, with Full Service branches at 217 Johnson Road and 1110 Centennial Avenue in Albany, GA.
